Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province

The province extends across 16,332 square kilometers of terrain, ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 meters above sea level in west-central Iran.

Archaeological findings throughout the region reveal human settlements dating back nine thousand years, with numerous ancient structures from pre-Islamic periods.

The Bakhtiari tribes maintain their nomadic traditions through seasonal migrations, traditional music performances, and distinctive regional clothing styles.

The winter temperatures drop to minus 34 degrees Celsius, making the period from April through September the most suitable for visiting.

The province contains the sources of major Iranian rivers, including Zayanderud and Karoon, which supply water to multiple communities across the country.
