Hestfjall

Hestfjall rises to an elevation of 322 meters, featuring varied terrain with easier hiking paths on the eastern side and steeper slopes to the northwest.

The mountain has been a reference point for local farmers since the establishment of the Hestur farm, which focused on traditional sheep herding practices.

The name Hestfjall derives from the Icelandic words 'hestur' meaning horse and 'fjall' meaning mountain, connecting to the region's agricultural heritage.

Hikers can reach the summit through a marked trail starting from Hestur farm, with the ascent taking approximately one and a half hours to complete.

From the summit, visitors can observe panoramic views including the Snæfellsjökull glacier, Mount Baula, and Skessuhorn across the Icelandic landscape.
