Pisticci

Pisticci is an administrative commune in Matera Province, located in the Basilicata region of southern Italy. The town spreads across hilly terrain at an elevation of 364 meters and looks out over the surrounding landscape.

During World War II, Pisticci housed Italy's first concentration camp facility until 1943. When allied forces arrived, the camp was freed and hundreds of prisoners were released.
