Stadio Renato Dall'Ara
Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, Football stadium in Costa Saragozza district, Bologna, Italy.
Stadio Renato Dall'Ara is a football stadium in the Costa Saragozza district of Bologna, holding up to 36,462 spectators for matches. The venue presents an architectural layout with integrated stands that form a continuous structure around the pitch, creating a compact design.
Architect Giulio Ulisse Arata designed the stadium between 1925 and 1927, completing construction during that period. Originally known as Stadio Littoriale, the venue received its current name in 1983.
The venue honors Renato Dall'Ara, who guided the local football club as its president for over thirty years. On match days, supporters gather in the surrounding streets of Costa Saragozza, creating a lively neighborhood atmosphere that reflects the deep connection between the team and the city.
The venue sits about three kilometers from the center of Bologna and offers direct shuttle buses from the main train station on match days. Arriving early allows time to explore the streets around the ground and get a sense of the local match day atmosphere.
During the 1993 World Cup qualifier, San Marino scored against England after just 8.3 seconds, marking the fastest goal ever conceded by the English national team. This surprising moment remains one of the most memorable events ever to take place in this venue.
