Sant'Antonio delle Monache a Port'Alba

Sant'Antonio delle Monache a Port'Alba is a baroque religious structure in Naples featuring a striking double-ramp staircase from the 18th century. The building shows detailed marble work and elaborate interior fittings created by multiple artists.

The convent was founded in 1564 and later expanded by adding an adjacent palace to its structure. This change made it a larger religious complex within the city.

The name comes from Saint Anthony and the nuns who lived here. You can still see the ornate stucco work and paintings on the walls that reflect the religious life of that era.

The building now serves as a university research library and can be visited during opening hours. It is well connected by public transport and located in a central area of the historic old town.
