Tribulaunhütte, building in Tyrol, Austria
Tribulaunhütte is a mountain hut located in Gossensass, situated on a high plateau surrounded by green pastures and rock formations in the Stubai Alps. The rustic stone building has simple rooms for overnight stays, a dining area with wooden tables and benches, and a kitchen that prepares traditional mountain dishes using local ingredients.
The hut was originally built to serve farmers and travelers passing through the area and working in the mountains. Over time it became an important stopping point for mountaineers and hikers exploring the Stubai Alps region.
The hut takes its name from the nearby Tribulaun mountain and serves as a gathering place where hikers from different backgrounds meet and share meals together. This simple setting encourages conversations between travelers and locals who exchange stories about their mountain experiences.
Access is via a marked trail starting from Gossensass that passes through the Pflerscher valley and takes about one hour on foot. The hut operates only during summer months from July through late September and is best visited on weekdays or early mornings when fewer people are on the trail.
The hut sits very close to Sandes See, a small alpine lake whose surface often mirrors the surrounding sky and mountains. Many visitors spend time sitting by its shore to watch this natural reflection, which adds a special quality to the place that makes it memorable for photography.
