Port'Alba, Naples, City gate in Naples, Italy

Port'Alba stands at the northwestern edge of Piazza Dante, featuring a stone archway that leads into a pedestrian passage called Via d'Alba.

The gate was constructed in 1625 under Antonio Alvárez of Toledo, Duke of Alba, who served as the Spanish viceroy of Naples.

The passage through Port'Alba connects to streets filled with bookshops selling ancient texts, literary works, and Italian comics in 18th-century buildings.

Visitors can access both Piazza Dante and Piazza Bellini through this gateway, which remains open for pedestrian traffic throughout the day.

The gate contains the entrance to Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba, established in 1738, recognized as the first pizzeria in the world.
