Villa Widmann – Foscari, Venetian villa in Mira, Italy.
Villa Widmann - Foscari is a Baroque residence in Mira featuring a three-story structure with ornate architecture and refined interior decoration. The rooms are furnished with Murano glass chandeliers and original period furniture, while exhibition spaces display a collection of traditional gondolas and antique carriages.
The villa was built in 1718 for the Seriman family from Persia and later underwent significant modifications under different owners. The Widmann and Foscari families shaped the property through their changes and contributed to its current form.
The interior rooms display frescoes by Giuseppe Angeli that reflect Venetian artistic traditions visible in the decorative details throughout. The collection of traditional gondolas and antique carriages tells the story of water transport and mobility that defined life in this region.
The building is open Tuesday through Sunday and can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle. Guided tours are available for larger groups, providing deeper insight into the collections and architecture.
The expansive park preserves rare ancient rose varieties and is framed by bald cypress trees that give the grounds a botanical character. These garden areas still follow the original layout and offer insight into how gardens were designed on historic Venetian estates.
