Villa Ferretti Angeli

Villa Ferretti Angeli is a residence in Dolo with balanced architectural design, where a colonnade, wine cellar, stable, and chapel connect to the main building. The entire complex shows the typical layout of Venetian merchant country houses, where living spaces and working functions sit close together.

Vincenzo Scamozzi designed the villa in 1608, incorporating classical elements typical of Venetian country residences of that period. The construction date falls within an era when wealthy Venetian families systematically modernized their countryside estates.

The interior rooms once featured frescoes painted by Giuseppe Spolaor, though many of these decorative works vanished over the centuries. They showed how wealthy families valued artistic decoration in their homes.

The building is located in Dolo and currently functions as a trade school, so visits outside opening hours are limited. Planning a visit beforehand by checking access times is recommended for those interested in seeing the interiors.

The building has been repurposed several times over the centuries and did not always serve only as a residence. Today it houses classroom spaces where educational programs, conferences, and cultural events take place throughout the year.
