Cathedral

The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is a religious building notable for its distinctive stone staircase that branches into four separate paths. The staircase serves as the main approach to the structure's facade in the town center.

Following the major earthquake of 1688, two brothers oversaw the reconstruction of the cathedral at the heart of the newly rebuilt town. The building became a focal point for the resettled community.

The cathedral contains paintings and wooden sculptures from the 18th century that fill the interior spaces. These artworks reflect local artistic traditions and religious devotion throughout the building.

The building is located in the town center and easily accessible on foot. Visitors should keep in mind that this is an active place of worship where standard church conduct applies.

During World War I, soldiers occupied the cathedral's interior, causing damage to sacred objects and furnishings. This lesser-known chapter reveals how warfare affected even religious buildings in the region.
