Description
Montalcino Cathedral is a church building with Neoclassical style in the center of town. The front facade features six Ionic columns above the entrance, and inside three portals lead to vaulted spaces that form one unified interior.
History
The cathedral was designed between 1818 and 1832 by architect Agostino Fantastici and replaced an older church that once stood on the same ground. This rebuilding was part of the town's modernization during the 1800s.
