The palace, documented on the Lafrery map of 1566, underwent significant renovation in 1732 after an earthquake damaged its structure.
Members of the Mastellone family, who held the title of princes of Salza Irpina, influenced the architectural development of this Naples residence.
The palace stands at coordinates 40°50'39.16"N, 14°14'55.10"E, near the Sansevero Chapel Museum and the Church of Gesu Nuovo.
In 1799, the palace gained historical notoriety when authorities arrested resident Luisa Sanfelice, who later faced execution.
