The Palazzo della Casa del Mutilato features stone panels at its entrance, decorated with sculptures by Vico Consorti and Giuseppe Pellegrini.

The building was constructed between 1938 and 1940 under architect Camillo Guerra during the fascist regime to serve wounded veterans of World War I.

A monumental staircase inside the building leads to a Victory statue, representing the architectural values and social ideals of 1940s Italy.

The structure stands on via Guantai Nuovi and via Diaz at piazza Matteotti, near the central post office building in Naples.

Several houses in the San Giuseppe-Carità district were demolished to create space for this building dedicated to the National Association of War Invalids.
