Cloitres de Monteoliveto, Religious cloister in historic district, Naples, Italy

The Monteoliveto cloisters consist of multiple courtyards surrounded by covered walkways with arched columns and traditional Mediterranean gardens.

The cloisters, founded by Olivetan monks in the 14th century under King Robert of Anjou, underwent significant changes after religious orders were suppressed in 1799.

The complex features marble wells, Renaissance architectural elements, and religious artworks, including the notable Ecce Homo sculpture by Giovanni da Nola.

Visitors can access the cloisters Monday through Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with reduced hours on Sundays, for an entrance fee of 7 euros.

The main cloister displays a rectangular structure with seven arches on its shorter side and nine on its longer side, supported by underground vaults.
