Palazzo della Nunziatura Apostolica, Papal diplomatic palace on Via Toledo, Naples, Italy.

Palazzo della Nunziatura Apostolica is a palace located on Via Toledo in Naples that once served as a papal diplomatic residence. The building retains features from the 16th century and later received neoclassical modifications in the 1800s.

An archbishop acquired the building in 1585 under papal direction and established it as the church's diplomatic residence. The property suffered severe damage from a sewer disaster in 1656 but was restored afterward.

The facade shows layers of different periods, with neoclassical touches added over time that reflect its importance as a diplomatic seat. Today these architectural changes tell the story of how the building adapted to different uses across the centuries.

The building sits along Via Toledo, a main street running through central Naples. Visitors should know that the building now houses a shop and may not be accessible from the inside for viewing.

In 1656 a massive sewer explosion beneath Via Toledo damaged the building so severely that it had to be temporarily abandoned. This event stands as one of the most dramatic moments in the site's long history.
