Palazzo della Questura, Naples, Police headquarters palace in Naples, Italy
The Palazzo della Questura is a large administrative building located at the corner of Via Medina and Via Armando Diaz in central Naples. The structure spans multiple floors with distinctive facade elements and houses various offices as well as a small museum space in its attic level.
Construction of the palazzo began in 1935 and was delayed by international trade restrictions, with completion achieved by 1940. During World War II, the building suffered significant damage in 1943 from an explosion during the German retreat from the city.
The building design reflects the architectural style of 1930s Italy with its monumental structure and Latin inscription QVESTVRA on the facade.
The building sits at a central location in the heart of the city, easily reachable from major transit points. Visitors should be aware this is an active administrative site, so access to certain areas is restricted.
The attic level of the building houses a small museum dedicated to journalist Vincenzo Tucci, documenting his work and contribution to local history. This makes it an unexpected place to learn more about the city's journalistic traditions.
