Construction of the palace began in 1935 and faced delays due to material shortages from international embargoes, leading to its completion in 1940.
The building design reflects the architectural style of 1930s Italy with its monumental structure and Latin inscription QVESTVRA on the facade.
The police headquarters contains multiple administrative offices and includes a museum dedicated to journalist Vincenzo Tucci in its attic space.
On October 7, 1943, the palace experienced substantial damage from an explosion attributed to German forces during their retreat from Naples.
