Museo delle Navi Antiche, Archaeological museum in Arsenali Medicei, Pisa, Italy
The Museo delle Navi Antiche displays an extensive collection of ancient ships, maritime tools, and recovered artifacts within renovated Renaissance-era naval buildings.
The museum, inaugurated in June 2019, occupies the former Medici Arsenal complex that served as a naval construction center during the 16th century.
The museum exhibits numerous maritime artifacts from different periods, revealing the technological advancements and trading practices of ancient Mediterranean civilizations.
Visitors can explore the museum collections from Tuesday to Thursday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and Friday through Sunday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
The institution preserves and displays real ancient ships discovered during excavations, demonstrating construction techniques and materials from past naval engineering.
