The residence at Via Cavour 28 is a palazzo with ornately decorated ceilings featuring painted angels and medallions showing views of Italian towns. The rooms are spacious and carefully composed with period furnishings and details.
The building served as the winter home of the Spadolini family for three generations before the family moved to a villa in the hills in 1978. This relocation ended the family's long occupancy in the city center.
The rooms display artworks by Guido Spadolini alongside paintings from Primo Conti and Nino Caffè. The collection shows how the family valued art and creativity in their daily life.
The residence opens twice yearly for special visits and requires advance reservations to be arranged by phone or email. Plan your visit well ahead as access is limited and regular touring is not available.
The rooms contain a clock with Roman numerals that was gifted by poet Eugenio Montale to the family. This personal memento reveals the literary connections the family maintained.
