San Pietro a Careggi

San Pietro a Careggi is a church in Florence with a single nave and a 17th-century portico marking its entrance. Frescoes cover the interior walls and the apse dome, creating a layered visual experience as you move through the space.

The building was first recorded in 1036 as a three-nave structure before an earthquake in the 14th century forced its redesign into a single nave. This change shaped how the space functioned from that point forward.
