Santa Maria in Portico a Fontegiusta, Renaissance church and museum in Siena, Italy

The three-aisled church features a brick facade with a sculpted portal by Giovanni di Stefano and houses numerous frescoes on its interior walls.

Construction of the church took place between 1482 and 1484 under Francesco di Cristoforo Fedeli to celebrate Siena's victory over Florence at Poggio Imperiale.

The marble altar from 1517 by Lorenzo di Mariano and frescoes by Ventura Salimbeni represent the artistic achievements of Renaissance craftsmen.

The church stands on Via di Fontegiusta, near the intersection with Via Paparoni in the Camollia district of Siena.

The sacristy contains an unexpected museum dedicated to Christopher Columbus, adding a maritime connection to this inland religious structure.
