Cruillas, First-level administrative unit in Palermo, Italy

Cruillas is a district of Palermo situated at the foot of Monte Cuccio and composed mainly of social housing developments with low-rise complexes and terraced houses. The area's architecture reflects functional residential and apartment buildings that represent everyday urban living in the city.

The district takes its name from the Catalan Cruillas family, who settled in Palermo during the 13th century and left a lasting mark on the area's development. The family's presence helped establish settlement patterns that shaped the neighborhood for centuries to come.

The neighborhood is home to the Madonna del Rosario di Pompei sanctuary, built between 1892 and 1896, which remains an important gathering place for the local religious community. The structure reflects its era and shapes daily life in the area.

The area is served by AMAT bus lines 529 and 675, which connect residents to Cervello Hospital and other parts of Palermo. Good public transportation access makes it straightforward to navigate the neighborhood and reach other areas of the city.

Archaeological findings in the adjacent Montagnola di Santa Rosalia revealed engravings dating back to the Punic period, showing that the region was inhabited since ancient times. These discoveries demonstrate a long history of settlement in the area before medieval times.
