Lago di Centro Cadore is an artificial reservoir on the upper Piave, created in the 1950s by the Pieve di Cadore dam at Sottocastello. It covers 2.3 km², reaches a maximum depth of 108.3 m and holds 67.5 million m³, making it the third-largest lake in Veneto by volume. Narrow and elongated, it runs south to north from near Calalzo to Lozzo di Cadore, touching Domegge, Lorenzago and Pieve di Cadore.

A dam was constructed in the Sottocastello area during the 1950s, creating this water reservoir. The project emerged as part of regional infrastructure development in the mountains.

An island in the lake holds archaeological remains of an ancient settlement, showing how people have valued this location for centuries. The site suggests the place held both practical and spiritual meaning for its early inhabitants.
