Museo Nazionale delle Arti e Tradizioni Popolari

The Museo Nazionale delle Arti e Tradizioni Popolari is an ethnographic museum in Rome housing over 100,000 objects from Italian life. The collections display tools, furniture, jewelry, and everyday items from different parts of the country.

The collection began in 1906 with objects from the 1911 International Exposition celebrating Italian unification. The museum opened to the public in 1956.

The collection holds a gondola gifted to Queen Margaret of Savoy in 1882, a rare connection between Venetian craftsmanship and royalty. Twelve ceremonial masks from the Procession of San Sosti also document specialized religious traditions preserved here.
