Museo delle poste e telecomunicazioni, History and technology museum in EUR district, Rome, Italy
The museum occupies 3,500 square meters of exhibition space dedicated to postal services, telegraphy, telephony, radio, television, philately, and marcophily collections.
The collection started in 1878 when Ernesto D'Amico gathered telegraph materials from pre-unification Italian states at the Telegraph Technical Office in Florence.
The museum houses over one million stamps, 90,000 postmarks, and 3,000 artifacts that document the development of Italian postal and telecommunications systems.
The facility maintains wheelchair accessibility and provides cloakroom services for visitors at Viale Europa 46 in the EUR neighborhood of Rome.
The museum displays one of three remaining Enigma cryptographic machines from World War II alongside a reconstruction of an ancient Post Office from Parma.
