The museum, established in 1961, occupies the site of an ancient Christian basilica that underwent multiple reconstructions throughout fifteen centuries.
The museum displays numerous Christian inscriptions and a Coptic-style altar with twelve stools representing the Apostles, reflecting religious practices from early Eastern traditions.
Visitors can observe the ancient mosaic floors from elevated walkways, and the facility provides complete wheelchair access throughout the exhibition spaces.
The museum preserves multicolored mosaic floors from the Fondo Tullio basilica in Beligna, representing distinct patterns from early Christian architecture.
