The Roman Forum of Aquileia consists of stone foundations, streets, columns, and structures that demonstrate Roman architecture and urban planning methods.
Founded in 181 BC, this forum acted as the administrative, commercial, and social nucleus of Aquileia when the city reached 100,000 residents.
The forum contains remains of temples, public buildings, and market spaces that reveal the daily activities of Roman society in northern Italy.
The archaeological site opens daily from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with guided tours available in multiple languages through the visitor center.
Excavations at the forum uncovered numerous artifacts, including coins, jewelry, and trade items that document connections between Rome and northern Europe.
