Vittorio Formentano Park is a public green space in Milan centered around a historic Liberty-style palace. The park features two children's areas, sports courts for various games, shaded walking paths, and dedicated zones for dogs to play.
The site was originally an Austrian military fortress before becoming a fruit market in the early 1900s. It was transformed into the public park we see today and formally opened to residents in 1965.
The palace inside the park now serves as a cultural center where residents and visitors attend musical performances and art exhibitions. People gather here regularly to experience local artistic events and community activities.
The park is easily accessible on foot with broad, level paths suitable for visitors of all abilities. It is best visited on weekdays or early mornings when fewer people are present.
A bronze sculpture in the park depicts two blood donors as a memorial to Vittorio Formentano, founder of Italy's blood donation volunteer organization. This statue tells the story of an important figure in Italian medical history and community service.
