Parco del Monte Cucco

Mount Cucco Park covers 10,480 hectares of terrain in northeastern Umbria, featuring peaks, valleys, and underground waters across four municipalities of Perugia province.

The regional government established Mount Cucco Park in March 1995, designating it as a protected landscape under category V of the IUCN classification system.

The municipalities within the park maintain traditional practices of forestry management and livestock grazing, supporting a population of 7,000 residents across the territory.

Visitors can access multiple trails for hiking, explore extensive cave systems, practice paragliding from mountain peaks, and participate in cross-country skiing during winter months.

The park contains a network of mineral springs and karst caves, providing essential habitats for wolves and golden eagles within the Apennine mountain ecosystem.
