Parco del Monte Subasio

Parco del Monte Subasio is a protected regional park spanning around 7,200 hectares in the Perugia province. A rounded mountain with an elevation of about 1,290 meters forms the center of this landscape, with numerous trails crisscrossing through forests and meadows.

This protected area was established in 1995 to safeguard the natural landscape. The mountain has held spiritual and cultural importance for local populations since ancient times.

The park includes several municipalities such as Assisi, Nocera Umbra, Spello, and Valtopina, each contributing to the preservation of regional traditions.

Multiple entry points allow visitors to access the park and explore marked trails throughout the area. Information centers at key locations provide maps and advice for planning outdoor activities.

Three rivers form the natural boundaries of this park: the Tescio in the north, the Chiona to the southeast, and the Topino to the east. These waterways support the ecological richness found throughout the area.
