Parco dello Storga, Nature reserve between Treviso and Carbonera, Italy
Parco dello Storga is a nature reserve between Treviso and Carbonera with about 67 hectares of protected land. The area features reforested sections, enclosed fields, an artificial pond with reeds, and hedges along the boundaries.
The land was once part of the former Saint Artemio Psychiatric Hospital. Later it was converted into the provincial headquarters of Treviso before being developed as a nature reserve.
The Case Piavone ethnographic museum inside the park displays tools and objects from rural life in the Veneto region. The collection shows how people here managed daily tasks in earlier times.
The grounds are open daily and feature multiple walking paths connecting the main areas. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and allow enough time to explore the different sections.
Natural springs of the Storga River emerge within the park, creating specific ecological environments. These spring areas are surrounded by alder and willow forests that form particular habitats.
