Palazzo del Nuoto

Palazzo del Nuoto is a swimming venue in the Santa Rita district that holds two 50-meter pools, including an Olympic-size competition basin and a training pool with substantial water surface. The facility offers modern training areas, spectator seating, and underground parking across multiple levels.

Construction started in 2004 and encountered structural challenges that extended the timeline significantly before opening to the public in May 2011. This extended building process reflected the evolving ambitions for modern sports infrastructure in Turin during the early 2000s.

The building brings together Japanese and Italian architectural visions, merging Eastern design principles with Western functionality. Visitors can experience how these two approaches create a distinctive character that sets it apart from typical sports facilities.

The venue is easily accessible with ample parking available on-site, making it convenient for visitors arriving by car. All facilities are designed to be accessible, and visitors will find everything they need for a day of swimming or training without needing to leave.

The roof extends prominently over Via Filadelfia street and is supported by prefabricated stainless steel panels that give the structure a futuristic appearance. This architectural feature is particularly striking when viewed from outside and shapes how the building appears from the street.
