Piedmont Region Headquarters, Government skyscraper in Turin, Italy
The Piedmont Region Headquarters is an administrative tower rising 205 meters with 42 floors of glass and steel construction near Turin's Lingotto district. The building houses regional government departments managing affairs across the entire Piedmont territory.
Construction began in 2011 on the site of a former Fiat Avio facility, with the project completing in October 2022 after encountering several technical challenges. The development transformed an abandoned industrial area into a regional government hub.
The building marks a shift away from conventional Italian administrative architecture toward contemporary design language. Its glass-clad facade and modern form have become part of how the city presents itself today.
The building sits in a modern commercial district and is visible from public spaces, but interior access is restricted to authorized personnel and official visitors. It remains accessible by public transport and functions primarily as a workspace for government staff.
During construction, 300 of the building's 3,600 windows required replacement, adding unexpected delays to the project timeline. This window installation challenge became one of the most notable technical hurdles faced during development.
