Palazzo Gambirasi, Aristocratic palace in Ponte district, Rome, Italy.

The Palazzo Gambirasi is a four-story building on Via della Pace with a rectangular portal and decorative framing that displays the Gambirasi family crest. Multiple shop entrances occupy the ground level, and the structure is currently managed by the Germanic Institutes of Santa Maria dell'Anima.

Merchant Donato Gambirasi from Bergamo purchased the land in 1657, with architect Giovanni Antonio de Rossi completing construction between 1658 and 1660. This building took shape during the early development of the Ponte district.

The building once housed influential figures including architect Giovanni Azzurri and poet-librarian Domenico Gnoli, who shaped its intellectual character over decades. Their presence connected this palazzo to Rome's cultural circles during their time there.

The building is easy to spot with its decorated facade on a main street with multiple shop entries at ground level. Keep in mind that the interior is now managed by an institution, so access may be limited or only available at certain times.

From 1891 until 2016, the palazzo housed Caffe della Pace, a legendary meeting place for Roman society. This cafe shaped the identity of the location for more than a century.
