Villa Ombrosa, 20th century villa in Tuscany, Italy

Villa Ombrosa is a 20th century villa located near Marina di Pietrasanta between Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, with a park containing mature trees throughout its grounds. The main house features modern amenities including wooden floors, private parking, and easy access to the local beach facilities and establishments.

The property was originally built in the early 1900s by Countess Carini under the name Villa Gemmamaria. Before World War II, the house changed hands several times.

From the 1960s through the 1970s, the villa hosted young travelers and provided shelter to some of the region's earliest Senegalese immigrants. This period shaped the house as a meeting place for different communities.

The property is easy to explore on foot, with the park area inviting for walks and proximity to the beach enabling quick outings. Visitors should note that access comes via local roads and directions from Marina di Pietrasanta work best.

The house played an important role in the area's labor migration history and provided shelter for people from different backgrounds during a critical period of regional development. This story makes the villa a quiet witness to the changing population and culture of the Tuscan coast.
