Villa Wanda, Private residence on Santa Maria hill, Arezzo, Italy
Villa Wanda is a three-story residence set on the Santa Maria delle Grazie hill in Arezzo. The house contains more than thirty rooms and sits within a three-hectare park with gardens and green spaces.
The property became the focus of a police investigation in 1981 that uncovered secret membership lists of the Propaganda Due masonic lodge. Gold bars were also discovered hidden in the gardens, drawing significant public attention to the site.
The villa holds a substantial collection of historical documents that were later transferred to the State Archive of Pistoia in 2006.
The building is currently inaccessible to visitors due to ongoing legal disputes related to tax matters. These proceedings prevent access to the property at this time.
A stolen Madonna della Consolazione statue from 1512 surfaced in the gardens of the property in 1980. The artwork had been removed from its original sanctuary four years earlier and was discovered here.
