Sanctuary of San Gerardo Maiella

The Sanctuary contains two churches: an ancient building from 1200 and a modern structure with bronze doors depicting scenes from Saint Gerard's life.

Following two reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary to shepherds during medieval times, a small chapel was constructed on a hill covered with elder trees.

The Room of Bows displays thousands of pink and blue ribbons offered by grateful parents, representing birth announcements and prayers answered through Saint Gerard.

The sanctuary remains accessible throughout the year, with frequent masses conducted in both the ancient basilica and the modern Church of the Redeemer.

The bronze statue of Jesus atop a large organ, accompanied by a mosaic depicting the twelve apostles, stands as the central element in the new church.
