The Monte Polveracchio reserve spans 200 hectares of beech forest within the Picentini Mountains, providing diverse habitats for local wildlife species.
The establishment of the Monte Polveracchio Natural Oasis in November 1985 marked a critical step in protecting the ecological resources of Campania region.
The WWF and local management committee coordinate educational programs and nature activities to enhance public understanding of environmental conservation.
Visitors can access the reserve through provincial road 31 Campagna-Acerno at kilometer 15, where a visitor center provides information and trail guidance.
The reserve shelters one of southern Italy's remaining wolf populations, alongside wild cats, spotted salamanders, and Italian newts in their natural environment.
