Polveracchio

Polveracchio is a mountain summit in the Monti Picentini range standing at approximately 1,790 meters. The terrain features steep slopes covered in varied plant life, with rocky outcrops visible throughout the landscape.

The area became part of the Monti Picentini Regional Park in 1988, establishing protection for the natural ecosystem in Campania. This designation marked a turning point for preserving the mountain landscape and its natural resources.

Local hikers have long used this summit as a gathering place and training ground for mountain activities. The paths show signs of generations passing through, reflecting a deep tradition of outdoor pursuits in the region.

Experienced hikers can reach the summit via Trail 167, which departs from Piano Del Gaudo and involves considerable elevation gain. The route demands good physical fitness and careful planning, especially during poor weather or winter conditions.

The mountain sits within a geological zone known for distinctive mineral formations and rock structures. This makes it a point of interest for observers of natural geology who want to study the varying stone compositions.
