Spoletium amphitheatre, Roman amphitheatre ruins in Spoleto, Italy

The amphitheatre measures 115 by 85 meters with ten open arches remaining from its ambulatory structure along Via dell'Anfiteatro street.

Constructed around 10 AD outside the Roman walls, the amphitheatre transformed into a Gothic fortress under Totila's rule in 545 AD.

The church and monastery of San Gregorio Minore were built on the amphitheatre site during the 12th century, marking religious changes.

Visitors can observe portions of the ancient structure from Caserma Minervio, though most areas remain integrated within modern buildings.

The amphitheatre served as a material source for the construction of Rocca Albornoziana fortress in the 14th century.
