Moreno Gardens

Moreno Gardens is a historic garden on the Ligurian coast featuring fountains, palms, citrus groves, and ancient olive trees spread across the property. A restored villa within the grounds now houses a museum dedicated to a notable painter.

The garden was established in 1830 by Vincenzo Moreno, who gathered rare plant species from his travels along the Ligurian coast. This collection brought botanical significance to the area during that era.

The garden drew painters seeking inspiration among its plants and became a quiet retreat where artists found motifs for their work. Walking through the paths feels like entering a private sanctuary, where each corner reveals the personal vision of its original owner.

The gardens are freely accessible year-round with paths running between different planted areas and can be explored at your own pace. Wear comfortable shoes since the paths are uneven and wind through sloped terrain.

A Canary Island pine tree planted in 1830 rises about 36 meters tall and ranks among Europe's tallest specimens of this species. This single tree serves as a living witness to the garden's original planting efforts.
