Baia di Vignanotica

Baia di Vignanotica is a beach along the Gargano Peninsula, lined with steep white limestone cliffs that tower above turquoise waters. The narrow sandy shore sits sheltered between these rock walls and is dotted with small natural caves.

The white limestone cliffs formed over millions of years through geological processes along the Apulian coast. These rock formations likely served as hiding places for pirates and raiders during medieval times.

Local fishermen work the waters using age-old methods, and their daily catch reaches restaurant tables across the Vieste area. This traditional way of life remains visible in how the community uses the coastline.

Access to the beach requires descending a path with steps from the parking area above. During warmer months, equipment rentals are available, and you should bring water and sun protection since shade is limited.

The water here is so transparent that you can see the seabed formations from the surface. Kayakers discover small caves carved into the rock walls that are only accessible from the water.
