Parco della Tesoriera, Urban park with baroque villa in western Turin, Italy
Parco della Tesoriera is an urban park in western Turin featuring a baroque villa set within landscaped green space. It contains walking paths, garden areas, fountains, and maintained flowerbeds distributed across the grounds.
The villa was built between 1713 and 1715 as a residence for Ajmo Ferrero di Cocconato, who oversaw finances for the Savoy State. Over time the site transformed into a public space serving cultural purposes.
The baroque villa inside contains the Musical Civic Library Andrea Della Corte, which holds extensive music documents and scores for visitors to explore. This library reflects the area's historical connection to arts and scholarship.
The park operates on seasonal schedules, opening early and staying open late during summer while closing earlier during winter months. Wear comfortable shoes and plan your visit during daylight to safely explore all areas.
The park contains an ancient plane tree with an exceptionally thick trunk that predates the villa's construction. This tree was already an established landmark in the landscape before the baroque mansion was built.
