Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori

Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori is a baroque revival church in the Campidoglio district featuring an elliptical floor plan, six lateral chapels, and granite columns supporting a grand arch. A decorative dome topped with a lantern crowns the structure and shapes the interior light.

Construction began in 1880 under architect Giuseppe Gallo and concluded with its inauguration in 1899. The project arose during a period of intense urban development in Turin and strengthened the district's social and religious infrastructure.

The facade displays Latin inscriptions, including 'DOMUS DEI ET PORTA COELI' at the main entrance and a dedication to Sant'Alfonso on white marble.

This church sits in an accessible area with good public transit connections serving the district. The religious complex includes an oratory, sports fields, and a soup kitchen that together serve as a central gathering place for the local community.
