Fujinomiya

Located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Fuji, Fujinomiya extends across 388 square kilometers with a population density of 340 people per square kilometer.

The city emerged from the merger of Omiya town with Fujioka village in 1942, later incorporating additional villages including Fujine, Kitayama, Shiraito, Kamiide, and Ueno.

The Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha shrine stands as the principal religious center for Mount Fuji worship, where the Fuji clan served as head priests.

Local transportation includes multiple bus routes connecting to neighboring cities, while the Fujinomiya 5th Station serves as a starting point for Mount Fuji climbers.

Shiraito Falls, fed by Mount Fuji spring water, forms a natural curtain of water stretching 150 meters wide within the city boundaries.
