Heirin-ji, Buddhist temple in Takarazuka, Japan
The Heirin-ji temple complex features traditional thatched-roof architecture with a main gate leading to prayer halls and meditation spaces.
Founded 650 years ago in Saitama's Iwatsuki Ward, the temple moved to its current location in 1663 under Matsudaira Nobutsuna's direction.
The temple maintains active Rinzai Zen Buddhist practices, with monks following strict daily routines of meditation and study behind closed doors.
Visitors can access the temple grounds from 9 AM to 3:30 PM, with entrance fees of 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for children.
The temple houses the ancestral graves of the Matsudaira family within its forested grounds, which contain nationally designated maple trees.
