Kashiwara, City in Osaka Prefecture, Japan
Located 20 kilometers from central Osaka, Kashiwara extends across 25.33 square kilometers between the Yamato River and Ikoma Mountains.
The area of modern Kashiwara developed from a village established in 1889 to a town in 1915, featuring numerous burial mounds from the Kofun period.
The Kashiwara City Museum of History exhibits artifacts from the Jomon Period, including rare Kofun period fire irons and ancient earthenware collections.
The Kashiwara City Grape Sightseeing Center operates from August through October, offering wine tasting and grape sampling with admission fees from 700 to 1300 yen.
Kashiwara maintains a strong grape cultivation tradition, producing Kawachi grapes that supply markets throughout Osaka and beyond.
