Higashikagawa, Coastal city in eastern Kagawa Prefecture, Japan

Higashikagawa is a city in eastern Kagawa Prefecture that spreads along the Seto Inland Sea with mountains to the south and farmland throughout the region. The area is served by several train stations on the JR Kotoku Line connecting it to other communities.

The city formed in 2003 when three municipalities merged together into one community. Previously, Hiketa port functioned as a major point of contact between the mainland and the island of Shikoku.

Traditional puppet theater performances take place at Toramaru Puppet Land, where visitors can watch storytelling methods that have been passed down through generations. These shows remain an active part of how local people connect with their heritage.

The city can be reached through several train stations where Limited Express trains stop at selected locations and provide connections to larger cities. Plan which station works best for your destination, as not all trains stop at every location.

The city manufactures most of the country's baseball gloves and serves as a major center for sports equipment production. This specialized industry has developed over decades and continues to shape the local economy.
