Kuki Station, Railway station in Kuki, Japan
Kuki Station is a railway facility in Kuki, Japan, where two operators maintain separate areas with their own platforms and ticket offices. The JR East section sits on the Tohoku Main Line, while the Tobu Railway section serves two different routes heading toward Isesaki and Nikko.
The facility opened its doors in summer 1885 as part of the Tohoku Main Line, initially serving only trains now operated by JR East. Tobu Railway joined about 14 years later, expanding the site into a hub for multiple routes.
The name comes from the surrounding city and appears in both Latin script and Japanese characters on signage throughout the complex. Passengers wait in orderly queues at platforms, with marked floor lines showing where each train car will stop.
The complex features elevators and escalators connecting all levels, along with luggage lockers and facilities for families with young children. Visitor information is available inside the building, making orientation easier for first-time travelers.
The two operator areas share the same building but maintain completely separate ticket machines and platform access with no direct connection between them. Travelers switching between the two networks must pass through separate ticket gates, even though both sit inside the same complex.
