Kashiwa Station, Railway interchange station in Kashiwa, Japan
Kashiwa Station is a railway stop in Kashiwa that links two major rail companies and offers several platforms for different train routes. The tracks run at ground level and allow direct transfers between JR East and Tobu Railway lines.
The station opened for service in the late 19th century and was part of the Sobu Line network. Management passed to East Japan Railway Company in the 1980s when the national rail system was privatized.
The station building incorporates modern Japanese design elements and functions as a central meeting point for residents and travelers in the Chiba Prefecture region.
Ticket counters are staffed throughout operating hours and sell fares for both rail companies. Waiting areas with seating can be found on each platform and inside the main building.
In fiscal 2019, Kashiwa Station processed over 270,000 combined daily passengers through its JR East and Tobu Railway sections.
