Nerima-ku

Nerima occupies 48 square kilometers at the northwestern edge of Tokyo's central wards, bordered by Itabashi district and the cities of Musashino and Nishi-Tokyo.

The area transformed from agricultural land to residential district after the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923, when numerous residents relocated from central Tokyo.

The Nerima Art Museum maintains a collection of 7,000 modern Japanese artworks and features outdoor plant sculptures throughout its grounds.

Multiple rail lines connect the district, including Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line and Seibu Ikebukuro Line, with stations at Shakujii-Koen and Nakamurabashi.

Nerima functions as a center for Japanese animation production, housing major studios like Toei Animation and Anime International Company within its boundaries.
